Refreshed Djokovic ready to fight on in Paris

After taking a pause following his US Open title in September, Novak Djokovic confirmed on Saturday that he plans to threaten in his quest for title revenge at next week’s Paris Masters.

The Serb who lost the final at the Bercy arena a year ago to Holger Rune. will resume in Paris and the ATP Finals in Turin before leading Serbia into the Davis Cup finals in Spain.

And the 36-year-old said he has no plans to slow his pace as long as he is winning Grand Slam titles.

Djokovic holds the historic record for trophies at the majors with an historic 24 after defeating Daniil Medvedv for the trophy in mid-September in New York.

“I still feel young in my own body. It’s serving me well. I won three out of four slams,” he said on Saturday in Paris.

“Ddifferent tennis players in the past (have thought) it’s best to leave tennis when you’re at the top.

“Some of them think when you can’t win the biggest tournaments anymore and that you’re losing to the young guys, then you leave it.

“I’m more in that second group.”

Djokovc added: “As long as I’m a main contender for the Grand Slams and win the biggest tournaments in sport, I will not leave… unless mentally something happens and I really have no motivation anymore.

“But that’s not the case for now.”
