Rumour mill churns with report Boris will marry again

Boris Becker is ready to marry for a third time, with German tabloid Bild reporting that the six-time Grand Slam winner will wed girlfriend Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro.

The 56-year-old credits the woman 23 years his junior for seeing him through his 2022 London jail sentence for fraudulent bankruptcy; they live together in Milan according to the tab.

Bild says the wedding is planned for sometime this year. The pair had apparently been set to tie the knot two years ago before Becker’s eight-month jail sentence and subsequent deportation to Germany disrupted plans.

“Because of her love, I survived. Yes, she is the great love of my life and I hope I always stay with her,” Becker told news weekly Bunte at the time.

Monteiro is the daughter of an African politician from the island of Sao Tome and Principe, who ran for the presidency a decade ago.

Becker is currently on the job market after a trial coaching run with Dane Holger Rune failed to work out.
