Jabeur advances at expense of noted rookie

Wimbledon finalist Ons Jabeur on Wednesday polished off a 10th American this season to move into the third round of the US Open.

But the latest 7-5, 6-2 victim of the Tunisian came from tennis royalty in the form of Elizabethr Mandlik, daughter of 1985 Open winner Hana Mandlikova.

Fifth seed Jabeur notched her 40th victory of a breakthrough season, winning in 74 minutes with five aces and six breaks of serve.

Mandlick was unable to duplicate her defeat of Top 10 player Paula Badosa last month at San Jose.
