Emm-azing: Raducanu beats Osaka

Emma Raducanu’s US Open win saw her beat Naomi Osaka in the 2021 earnings table.

The 19-year-old made £2.1 million in 2021 leaving her in sixth spot, with Australian Open winner Osaka in eighth with £1.7 million.

The Japanese star played one match at the French Open, before withdrawing from Wimbledon in July.

meaning Raducanu climbed above her following victory at the highest earning event in New York.

The No.1 earnings spot through goes unsurprisingly to world No.1 Ash Barty.

The 25-year-old Aussie had another impressive season, culminating in her first Wimbledon win, where she beat Karolína Plíšková 6-3, 6-7, 6-3.

The five titles she collected in 2021 saw her earnings top £3 million in prize money.

World No.1 Novak Djokovic was the highest men’s earner with £6.8 million, followed by Daniil Medvedev with £5.6 million.
