Caroline Wozniacki believes tennis bestie Serena Williams is done with the sport and will not be making what has been hyped as a return to the courts at age 41.
Wozniacki, who retired from the WTA nearly three years ago, downplayed speculation that Williams – who played her “last” match in the US Open third round three months ago – is ready for another comeback.
Williams has occasionally dropped breadcrumbs hinting that a return might be possible, but former No. 1 Woz is having none of it.
“If she plays an exhibition I think that would be lucky but I don’t see her back playing on Tour,” the Dane told the Tennis Channel.
“There are just so many things going on.”
Wozniacki added: “She loves the game so much and it’s been her life for so many years. But at the same time, she is busy.
“I don’t think we will see her on a professional tennis court again.”
