Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic have been listed on the official US Open entry lists released yesterday in New York, with Djokovic already barred from entering the country because he is not vaccinated against Covid-19.
The entry lists are a formality, and include all players who are eligible based on current WTA and ATP rankings.
Williams is listed on the basis she qualifies for a special ranking granted to her because she missed so much time because of injury.
Asked whether she would play New York, the 40-year-old said: “There’s definitely lots of motivation to get better and to play at home.”
