Stefanos Tsitsipas added a notch to his leading match-win season total on Wednesday, reaching the third round of the Paris Masters 6-3, 6-4 over Brit Dan Evans.
The Greek whose best showing here was the quarter-finals three years ago, now heads the tour with 58 victories this season, including titles in Monte Carlo and Mallorca..
“I was really looking forward to going out there and playing a proper match,” Tsitsipas, who had to retire hurt here a year ago, said.
“There are not great memories from last year but I was trying to give it another go this year.
“I’m happy with the way I played, I’m happy with the level of tennis I brought when I had to.”
Tsitsipas made 28 winners, including eight aces, in the 80-minute success to keep his record Evans a spotless 4-0.
