Surprise RG match-winner lashes out at abuse allegations

Brazilian spoiler Thiago Seboth Wild pushed back on Tuesday at the French Open when questioned about abuse allegations made by his former girlfriend.

The qualifier won the biggest match of his career when he beat second seed Daniil Medvedev in five sets, turned testy when the subject of his alleged transgressions surfaced post-match.

The accusations made two years ago by Thayane Lima accusing him of physical and psychological violence, resulted in a restraining order against the player back home, according to local media.

Seyboth Wild branded the charges “false, fabricated and vengeful”.

“I don’t think it’s a subject we should talk about it right here,” he said in Paris after his victory.

“I don’t think it’s a question you should be making to anybody.

“I don’t think it comes to you to decide whether it’s a place to be spoken of or not.”
