Serbia cruise to victory over Austria

It took World No. 1 Novak Djokovic just an hour to beat Austria’s Denis Novak and help Serbia to a 3-0 win on the second day of the much criticised revised format of the Davis Cup.

Djokovic’s facile 6-3, 6-2 win  over Novak gave Serbia an unassailable  2-0 lead in the new format event.

Fellow Serb Dusan Lajovic had earlier got the Group F tie off to a solid start with a 7-6 (7-5) 3-6 7-5 win over Gerald Melzer.

The Serbian doubles pairing of Nikola Cacic and Filip Krajinovic beat Philipp Oswald and Oliver Marach 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 6-3 to seal the win.
