Andy Murray somehow manages to look on the bright side as he tries to reverse the most serious slide in form of his career.
The 36-year-old Scot is fighting to emerge from a slump which includes losses in his last six matches and a 1-2 record in his last 10.
The three-time Grand Slam winner will try to start putting things right this week in Doha, facing French qualifier Alexandre Muller in the first round.
“It’s been difficult, but I’m still enjoying everything that goes into preparing for the tournaments and preparing for the matches,” the winner of 46 career titles said.
“It’s a good experience for me to go through, not just for my tennis career but for general life as well.
“Things aren’t always perfect and everyone goes through difficult periods where things aren’t going well for them.”
Murray insists he has given no thought to packing in his career as he hits the current low ebb, with his last match victory obtained four months ago in October in Basel.
“I’ve never experienced (a period like this) in my whole career.
“It’s not, like, the nicest experience to go through. I’d obviously much rather be winning matches.”
