The former hockey player boyfriend of world No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka has died in Miami from what is reported as a blood clot.
The hockey club where 42-year-old Konstantin was a coach confirmed the death as he accompanied Sabalenka at the Miami Masters which began on Tuesday.
“It is with deep sorrow that we inform you that the coach of Salavat Yulaev, Konstantin Koltsov, has passed away,” a statement read.
Koltsov played for the NHL Pittsburgh Penguins from 2002 to 2006.
Sabalenka is expected to withdraw from the Miami tennis event.
