Quick-fire Swiatek locks up Keys

Iga Swiatek’s impressive 2022 form continued on Wednesday evening at Indian Wells as she swept aside Madison Keys 6-1, 6-0 in just 56 minutes.

She will face Simona Halep in the quarterfinals after Halep beat Petra Martic.

Swiatek was hot from the start, winning the first five games before Keys stopped the dreaded bagel to hold at 5-1. The defence didn’t last long as Swiatek won the next game to take the set.

Keys fared a little better at the start of the second set, but Swiatek was not to be broken and her big forehand was too much for her American opponent.
