Player changes nationality to play at Wimbledon

A Russian player has changed her nationality a week before Wimbledon, allowing her to compete at the tournament.

Natela Dzalamidze, 29, is set to compete alongside Serbian player Aleksandra Krunic in the women’s doubles at the Grand Slam.

Wimbledon banned players from Russia and Belarus from competing at the event after the invasion of Ukraine, but the Championships cannot stop Dzalamidze, who already holds a Georgian passport.
