American Jessica Pegula says she’s “upset” after being forced to miss the Billie Jean King Cup in Prague due to being a close contact of a person who tested positive for covid.
Pegula, ranked No. 21 will be replaced by Shelby Rogers.
“Unfortunately due to a covid close contact & out of precaution, I won’t be able to play @BJKCup this year,” she said on Twitter.
“I am upset I won’t get the chance to represent my country and that the year ends for me this way.
“I wish the team the best of luck and will be rooting from home.”
