Murray enters RG qualifiers unsure of wildcard

Former world No. 1 Andy Murray has entered the qualifying event for the French Open as he is not sure if he will receive a wildcard into the event.

Murray has said he hoped to play in a full clay-court season, but is yet to feature on the dirt this year.

He is absent from the wildcard entries for next week’s Madrid Open and there are only a handful of events left before Roland Garros starts on May 30.

He could skip the clay season and go to grass by entering the ATP event in Nottingham or the Stuttgart event in early June.

Murray, who has played only three ATP Tour matches in 2021, at the Open Sud de France and two at the Rotterdam Open, since being barred from. The Australian Open after testing positive for Covid-19.
