Millman retires after bizarre injury: watch video here

Australian John Millman was forced to retire hurt from the Mexican Open after hitting a ball into his own eye on Tuesday.

The Aussie was down 7-6 1-0 to America’s Marcus Giron when the incident happened.

Millman attempted to stop a ball that was heading towards him, sticking a racquet out behind his back.

But the ball ricocheted into his eye, forcing him to the ground in sudden pain.

Millman attempted to play through the injury but several points later had to retire hurt.
