Kvitova back to winning ways in Paris

After missing last year’s tournament with an arm injury, Petra Kvitova made an impressive return to Roland Garros on Monday with a 6-3, 7-5 victory over France’s Oceane Dodin.

Kvitova saw off the 23-year-old local favourite in just 77 minutes with 29 winners to only 14 unforced errors.

The Czech lost two points in five service games in the opening set and although the second set proved to be a lot tighter, Kvitova stayed focussed and in control to see off the challenge.
