Emma Raducanu pulls out of Miami Open

24th Seed Emma Raducanu, has pulled out of the Miami Open before her second-round match.

She is reportedly still recovering from a virus that has troubled her since the Middle East swing last month.

Raducanu started brightly in Indian Wells last month with the return of coach Mark Petchey on a short term basis.

But having reached the third round she suffered an inexplicably heavy defeat  6-1, 6-1 in less than an hour to world No. 6 Amanda Anisimova in the third round.

Withdrawing from Miami means she will be unable to defend the 215 points she earned from her quarter-final run last year,

This loss will probably drop her world ranking to  No. 26  after Miami and the tour returns to the European clay circuit.
