Boris begging to be allowed back for Wimbledon

Desperate Boris Becker has launched an appeal to British authorities to be allowed back into the country in time to attend Wimbledon.

London’s Telegraph reported the dream of the 56-year–old who served eight months of a two-and-a-half-year stint in prison two years ago for fraudulent bankruptcy.

The six-time Grand Slam winner was released in December, 2022, and sent back to his native Germany; under normal circumstances, he would be barred from entering the UK for a decade.

But the former coach of Novak Djokovic has other plans, hoping to obtain permission for a lightning entry in order to be free for Wimbledon beginning July 1

.“The 10 years not going back [to the UK] is rubbish, it’s not true,” he told the new outlet

“For me, after October 2024, (I could get) permission from the Home Office. They decide, I don’t decide.”

He added: “I miss Wimbledon of course. It’s my favourite tournament, the greatest one.

“I’m working on all fronts to come back next year, 2025. That’s an option.

“But let’s see who I’m working for there, because I can’t be in the country yet.”
