Wimbledon delayed by rain

Day one of Wimbledon has been delayed because of rain in London, with play expected to start at around 1pm local time.

Play on the outside courts got underway at 11am with Brit Cam Norrie in action against Pablo Andujar.

He had won the opening set 6-0 before the rain began to fall.

A spokesman for the Met Office said the first half of the week, would see bright dry weather with a only a small chance of showers.

“The second half of the week see a greater chance of showers breaking out.”
