Emma Raducanu has pulled out of the Chicago Fall Tennis Classic, which would have been her first appearance since her US Open triumph.
The Chicago WTA tournament is seen as a replacement for Asian events cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Raducanu, 18, is now expected to return to action at the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells – which starts on October 6.
With that in mind, the 18-year-old has already returned to hard training ahead of her new competitive outing, and shared an update of her workout on Instagram.
Raducanu posted a short video clip of herself pounding away on the treadmill in a gym yesterday, along with the line: “back with a sweat on.”
