“Proceed with caution” the plan for Murray in Dubai

Andy Murray plans to test his body next week in Dubai before making a final commitment to step on court in the emirate.

The Scot who will rise to a 52nd ranking after playing the Doha final against Daniil Medvedev, warned after his 6-4, 6-4 finals defeat that he might be smarter to rest next week.

All will be decided once he gets on the ground at the event he won in 2017.

“It was an incredible week, obviously didn’t finish as I wanted, but I had some amazing matches here and create some great memories,” Murray said.

“It’s great for me to get to play someone of that level (Medvedev) again in a final.

“I’m proud of my week and the work me and my team have put in to get back to this point.”

Dubai will feature Novak Djokovic, playing his first match in a month after winning the Australian Open despite claiming a mysterious hamstring tear which has stirred controversy.
