Pegula pulls out of WTA 1000 Tournaments In Doha And Dubai

Jessica Pegula has withdrawn from both upcoming Middle East tournaments in Dubai and Qatar due to a neck injury

The world No. 4 withdrew from her Adelaide Semi-final last month, and only lasted 72 minutes in the Australian Open

With the opening Grand Slam of the new season over, several players were heading to the two WTA 1000 tournaments in the Gulf which together equal victory at the Australian Open.

It’s been a tough start to the 2024 season for Pegula.

Last year, the 29 year old American reached the final in Doha, and  the semis in Dubai.

Her absence from both events this year means she will automatically drop to at least 5th place in the WTA Rankings.
