Boris Becker has offered up an analysis of the difficult injury comeback trail of fellow German Alexander Zverev, whose return from an ankle drama a year ago is running at half-speed.

“Sascha is still fighting with himself at the moment, with his self-confidence and his consistency,” the six-time Grand Slam champion told a Eurosport podcast. .
“I think the ankle is holding up, but mostly he’s struggling with his self-confidence.”
Becker is not tipping Zverev as a title contender at this edition in Paris, but believes the 26-year-old needs to regain his mental composure in tight moments in big matches.
“It has nothing to do with the forehand or the backhand, it has nothing to do with believing in your own strength,” Becker said.
