Norrie wins third ATP title in Delray Beach Open

British number one Cameron Norrie won his third ATP Tour title beating Reilly Opelka 7-6 (1) 7-6 (4) in the Delray Beach Open final.

The 26-year-old and top seed previously won titles in Indian Wells  and Los Cabos in 2021.

Despite sending down 25 aces, his big-serving American opponent, was unable to threaten the Norrie serve.

Top seed Norrie failed to take any of the five break points he created against Opelka but won both sets of a hard-fought contest on a tie-break

Norrie, who lost in the semi-final last year when he was world No. 74 has now jumped to No. 12 in the new ATP rankings.

After winning in just under two hours Norrie said   “I really enjoyed my time on court in Delray this week,”

His beaten opponent, world No. 20  Opelka added “You’re moving great. You’re playing great, I’m sure you’re going to break into the top 10 real soon”

Norrie became the first left hander to win the tournament since 2004.
