Japan’s Kei Nishikori overcame some early unforced errors to beat Slovenia’s Aljaz Bedene 7-6(6), 5-7, 6-4 in Miami.

Nishikori, now ranked 39, beat Bedene in straight sets in Dubai last week, but faced a tougher proposition in Miami.

It took Nishikori 2 hours and 50 minutes to win and set up a third-round showdown with world No. 5 Stefanos Tsitsipas.
