Brandon Naskishima won his 33rd ATP match of the season on Thursday to book a semi-final place at the NextGen Finals in Milan.
The American defeated Italy’s Franceso Passaro 4-3(4), 4-2, 4-1 to cap a perfect record in group play at the under-21 year-end event.
Advancing took 61 minutes; “I know he has had a great year this year. I thought my level was really high today,” the winner said.
“It was nice to see it carrying over from yesterday. To come out and play like that was super special.”
No. 49 Nakashima, ATP San Diego champion two months ago, finished with 17 winners to emerge 3-0 from the preliminary rounds.
