Lorenzo Musetti won the first grass-court match of his career on Monday as he put out Croat Borna Gogo 7-6 (4), 6-3 in his opening match of the pre-WImbledon campaign in Stuttgart.

The sixth-seeded italian came into the week standing 0-4 on the lawns, but achieved his breakthrough victory in 91 minutes on a hot summer day in Germany at the ATP Boss tournament.

Musetti finished with seven aces and nine double-faults, saving lal five break points he faced.

The No. 17 who lost to Carlos Alcaraz in the Roland Garros fourth round, handed Gojo a loss in the Croat’s fist Tour-level match on grass.
