Andy Murray has revealed the reason why Battle of the Brits teammate Dan Evans has been sporting a bizarre looking moustache, reminiscent of a notorious former German leader, in the Roehampton tournament this week.

During the week’s break between the two series of matches at LTA’s Roehampton headquarters, Murray, Dan Evans and his coach Mark Hilton manged to get in a round of golf, and the 30 year old No.1 Brit “got smoked” and was obliged to grow the moustache as his forfeit.

Murray told the Mail Online  “He was kind of growing one and I was rinsing him for that because in my opinion it’s a poor look, We were playing golf the following day. The losers had to grow a moustache for this event, and he and his coach Mark Hilton got smoked on the golf course.”

The three times Grand slam winner has chosen to only play doubles in the Battle of the Brits this week as he needs a gentle build up to his preparations to play in the US Open next month.

If the event does go ahead, Murray would be one of the few draw cards from outside the USA prepared to make the journey with the quarantine issues.and risk the coronavirus epidemic raging in the USA, albeit in a “bio-bubble”
