Andy Murray on Monday withdrew from the ATP Dubai event due to hip pain.

The Scot who battled his way into the weekend final in Doha – he played four three-set matches before losing the final to Daniil Medvedev – improved his ranking form 70 to its current 52nd with his run of fightback form.

The 35-year-old has been making major improvements in form after battling through half a decade of hip problems, including two surgeries.

He will be replaced in the draw headed by Novak Djokovic by a lucky loser form qualifying.
