It should have been a relaxing post victory weekend for Daniil Medvedev having just won the Dubai Title.
Instead the World No. 11, like many other players, was unable to leave the country due to the Iranian attacks on Dubai which put the World’s busiest Airport out of action following the elimination of Ayatolla Khomenei in the USA’s “Epic Fury” operation.
He did however post a more reassuring message on social media later:-
“Luckily, everything is fine for me. Of course, I have received many messages from friends and acquaintances; everyone is concerned, but I can tell you that everyone is okay,” Daniil said in a video.
“It was a wild night, we didn’t sleep much. Everything seems more intense at night with the fireballs in the sky and the repeated explosions. We spent quite some time in the reception area, and they were really sweet, so eventually, we went to our rooms and slept.
Holger (Rune) was very scared last night; after all, the media are flooded with brutal news and images of attacks around us.
Our flight is currently cancelled, and now we have no idea when we can leave” the 3rd seed in the Dubai Duty Free winner added.
