Medvedev leads challenge in St Petersburg

Daniil Medvedev will be the local hero, along with fellow Russians Karen Khachanov and Andre Rublev.

Medvedev faces Richard Gasquet in round one, Khachanov James Duckworth and Rublev will play Canadian Vasek Pospisil.

Stan Wawrinka is up against Dan Evans in the first round, Tennys Sandgren plays Asian Karatsev and Sam Querry meets Denis Shapovalov.

Cam Norrie will play Taylor Fritz and Alexander Bublik will meet young American Mackenzie McDonald in the biggest indoor tennis event this week.

Duckworth faces a tough challenge against fourth-seeded Karen Khachanov. If the No.93-ranked Duckworth can beat the No.17-ranked Khachanov, it would be his first top-20 win.
