Pictures of Novak Djokovic attending an event without a mask in Serbia a day after he is alleged to have contracted Covid 19 have emerged on social media, further questioning his right to a medical exemption for the Australian Open.
On December 17 Djokovic posted an image of himself receiving his own stamp at the Serbian National Postal Service a day earlier in Belgrade.
Djokovic was also pictured on the streets of Belgrade on December 25 despite Serbia’s rules requiring 14 days of self-isolation.
Court documents released ahead of the tomorrow’s visa appeal hearing state Djokovic’s Covid-19 infection was recorded by the Institute of Public Health of Serbia on December 16, which means he should have isolated.
The deadline set by Tennis Australia was December 10, although it is unclear how the organisation sidestepped that date to give him clearance on December 30.
