Maddison Inglis beat world No.85 Christina McHale 4-6 6-2 6-1 to qualify at a WTA tournament for the first time and Storm Sanders secured her place in the main draw with a 6-2 6-3 victory against world No.118 Caty McNally.
Astra Sharma lost to Italy’s Jasmine Paolini 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 and Madison Brengle beat Ellen Perez 6-3, 6-2 in the final qualifying round matches and Wang Qiang, who is coached by Pat Cash, knocked out Queensland teenager Olivia Gadecki, recording a 6-4 6-3 victory.
