Laver Cup looks ahead with Vancouver, Berlin

The Laver Cup will be held in Vancouver followed by Berlin for the next two editions from 2023, tournament officials announced on Wednesday.

The Europe v World team competition, envisaged by Roger Federer and run by his Team8 management company and Tennis Australia, will be played this September at the O2 Arena in London, longtime former site of the ATP Finals.

 Vancouver’s Rogers Arena will host from September 22-24, 2023 while Berlin’s Mercedes-Benz Arena will serve as the 2024 venue from September 20-22, 2024.

 “Our dream for the Laver Cup was to bring together the world’s top players – rivals year-round – as teammates, to honor the great legends of the past and bring spectacular and competitive tennis to new destinations,” Federer’s manager Tony Godsick said.  
 
“With the fifth Laver Cup taking place in London in September, and today’s announcement,  we are well on our way to realizing our vision for what is now a hugely popular event on the tennis calendar.” 

The three-day competition is played on a trademark black court between six of the best players from Team Europe (captain: Bjorn Borg) versus Team World (captain: John McEnroe).

The competition began in Prague in 2017 and has since been staged in Chicago, Geneva, Boston and the upcoming edition in London September 23-25.
