‘Dream come true’ as Karatsev wins Kremlin Cup

Aslan Karatsev secured a second ATP Tour title with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Marin Cilic at the Kremlin Cup in Moscow on Sunday.

The Russian, who could still make the ATP finals in Turin next month, won a break early in the first set and never looked back, dropping just one point on serve in an uneventful game that lasted just 77 minutes.

“It is a dream come true. It is a tournament where I have played in qualifying at and now I am winning the tournament<” a delighted Karatsev said.

“Thank you for all your support. It was a nervous final game. I hit a double and then on break point there was that long rally, but I managed to win it in the end.”

Karatsev had a littler more to do in the second set, but converted a break point in the seventh game, before serving out to tattle the set and the championship.
