With a fine of E 450,000 possibly in his future, Alexander Zverev will be weighed down at the upcoming ATP Finals by charges of domestic violence against the mother of his daughter.

German model and former girlfriend of the ATP No. 9   Brenda Patea has taken the player to court and won a massive damage claim.

She spelled out her reality of the dark side of Zverev to sueddeutsche.de:

“He is a jealous man, he constantly checks my phone and sometimes a simple ‘like’ from someone on a photo of me was enough to enrage him.

“His anger turned into physical violence several times.”

In testimony she said that Zverev grabbed her by the neck, pushing her into a wall of a flat in Berlin in May, 2020, which she said caused neck and throat injuries.

Zverev has already been involved in another sexual violence case brought by another ex, Olga Sharypova; she has filed a similar lawsuit against the German.

Patea told the newspaper website that to gain sole custody of her daughter, she accepted a deal which allowed her to live in one of the player’s properties, receive a E 100,000 one-off payment and a generous monthly stipend.

But in return she had to agree not to reveal details of the incident from more than three years ago.

Zverev has barely spoken publicly of his off-court troubles, referring all queries to his legal team.
