Djokovic set for Dubai return

World No. 1 Novak Djokovic looks likely to play at next month’s ATP Dubai tennis tournament.

Djokovic, who deported from Australia for failing to be vaccinated against Covid and for not meeting tough Australian immigration rules, was named for the February 21-26 event in a leaked entry list yesterday.

Djokovic flew out of Melbourne and home to Belgrade, via Dubai, on January 16, as doubts grew about his future participation in major events.

US immigration has already hinted he would not be allowed to play at Indian Wells in March and the French Government has recently passed a law banning any unvaccinated sports starts from competing on French soil.
