Novak Djokovic has turned on his pout after coach Goran Ivanisevic was overlooked at this year’s annual fan vote which decides the best in the game.
The world No. 1 Serb who claimed titles at three of the four majors has never enjoyed the public love and acclaim given to his longtime rivals Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
Though he leads in career prize money, the 36-year-old trails well back in the fan favourite stakes.
Djokovic let his inner toddler out in a somewhat sarcastic note to his coach after Jannik Sinner’s team of Darren Cahill and Simone Vagnozzi won the coaching poll:
“ Goran, I guess we will need to win the 4 Grand Slams to maybe, just maybe, be considered the best coach of the course,” Djokovic posted on Instagram.
“Ending the year as No. 1, three Slams, the ATP Finals and making history in sport has not been enough..”
