Alex De Minaur moved close to a coveted second week spot at the Australian Open with a straight sets win over Kamil Majchrzak on Thursday.
The 22-year-old easily took care of the world No.107 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 and now meets Spanish veteran Pablo Andujar next.
“I know Pablo very well. I’ve hit a lot with him,” de Minaur said.
“He’s a ripping competitor. He’s had some amazing wins.
“It’s a great position for me to be in and look, I’m just enjoying every second of it.
“Just keeping those positive vibes going and hopefully we can keep it going.”
De Minaur didn’t drop his serve throughout the match, and took the opportunities at the right times to break his opponent’s serve.
It only took one break point in each of the opening two sets but de Minaur converted both.
Australia’s No.1 took just 27 minutes to finish off the third set.
“I had a bit of a down year last year so I really wanted to make up for it,” he said.
“I’m happy to be able to play well and hopefully let my fitness do the talking.”
