Katie Boulter had a comfortable  win over Beatriz Haddad Maia 6-2,6-3 in just 90 minutes.

The British No. 1 has reached the last 16 of this tournament for the first time and faces  Victoria Azarenka in the next round

WTA No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka loust  6-4 1-6 6-1 to Anhelina Kalinina in her second match since the death of former boyfriend, ex-NHL player, Konstantin Koltsov and Sabalenka reacted angrily to the defeat, smashing her racket on  the court.

Kolstsov  died last Monday in what Miami Police in what police reported  as an “apparent suicide” in Miami.

After the match Kalinina said “ It’s always tough to play on big stages against these top players,” said Kalinina, who will play Kazakhstani Yulia Putintseva in the next round.

“Today was really tough with nerves but I managed in the tough moments to deal with it.”

World No. 1 Iga Swiatek sailed past Italy’s Camila Giorgi 6-2 6-1 in just over an hour.
