Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut had to fight back from a break down in the third set to beat Dominik Koepfer 6-3 3-6 6-3 at the European Open in Hamburg.

Bautista Agut converted on 7 of his 17 break points but Koepfer was the one to get off to a flyer, taking a 2-0 lead before the Spaniard won five consecutive games to take the first set. 

Koepfer then took a 3-1 lead in the second set and went on to win comfortably.

In the decider Koepfer came back from 0-2 down to lead 3-2 before Bautista Agut woke up, won four consecutive games and took out the match.

Bautista Agut will face Andrey Rublev in the quarter-finals after the Russian beat Tommy Paul 6-1 3-6 6-2.
