Murray books grass-court return to Stuttgart

Andy Murray will make a return to the Stuttgart grass next month, two years after reaching the final at the Wimbledon tune-up event.

The Scot who turned 37 today played for the 2022 final, losing to Matteo Berrettini.

The three-time Grand Slam winner has not competed since March 24 after injuring an ankle in Miami.

“I took away a lot of positive memories from the tournament in Stuttgart two years ago, so I’m really looking forward to returning to the BOSS OPEN,” the Scot said.

The field also includes Hubert Hurkacz, Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton, defending champion Frances Tiafoe, 2023 finalist Jan-Lennard Struff, all-time great Andy Murray and unpredictable Kazakh Alexander Bublik.
